Beating the Heat!

The Ammo The HOT, HOT summer has had us looking for new ways to stay cool.  After many days of beating the heat indoors we decided to pull out the water balloons.  First year that all the girls are old enough to enjoy them.  Took about half an hour and sore fingers but we finally had enough to "fight" (for about 3 minutes)!  The girls had such a great time we repeated the process with some friends (and more balloons) later in the week.
Loading up!
Big sister had her plan all laid out.  She ran to the "Fort" and starting tossing them down on everyone else.  Her sisters quickly caught on which left me standing down on the ground as the only target.  I did not care one bit seeing as how it was 95 degrees!

Our other favorite way of staying cool is the wadding pool.  Not only is it wet and refreshing but we add a little spice to it.  The frozen water bottles are great to cool off with but we also like to dump the ice bucket from the freezer in it.

I know that summer heat will eventually fade so we will enjoy it for what it is and in small doses.  Soon we will be out in the brisk fall air which we love so much.  For now, water balloons and ice cubes will be our comfort.

4th of July (backtracking)

Carmella and Isabella waiting on the fireworks!
(Note the super cute dresses I made)
This year we went to Veteran's Park to watch the fireworks show! The girls enjoyed the inflatables and we had some snacks. About an hour before the show it started raining:( We decided to wait it out in the Tahoe because we had great parking where we could see from the car. The girls enjoyed jumping and playing while we were just happy to be dry. The glow bracelets were a huge hit and kept them occupied.
This is Gabi with her glow bracelets!

For My Girls!

I have several friends who blog and they have sparked my interest. After a little research and pep talking, here I am. When I realized this could capture "life" for my girls to remember forever, I was in. Once a dedicated scrap booker, mother hood (see photo below) has changed all that. Determined not to give up on memories, this will be my replacement for now.
INTRODUCTION OF MY 3 ELLA'S
GABRIELLA, our oldest, is a princess, drama queen. Since a young age she has talked with her hands and told us elaborate stories even when we could not understand them. Now at almost six she still over dramatizes most everything, good or bad! We would be lost without her built in sense of control and direction. We will never worry about Gabi being pushed around, she will not stand for it. She has such a beautiful sense of adventure and loves the theater! Her imagination is so large I often wonder if it has an end. I hope not. Only time will tell what her personality will develop into but I am thankful I have a front row seat.
ISABELLA, the older of our twins, is a kind, loving child. She, like the other two, has a strong sense of what she wants. She has a tiny voice that can be so sweet and calming but has no problem being heard when needed. She loves being with her big sister and enjoys dancing around the house. She has an imagination larger than life and is always looking for her prince or battling pirates! Such a smart girl and quick learner. Looking forward to watching her grow into a beautiful lady some day.
CARMELLA, our baby (by one minute), uses that to her advantage. She is a silly, little girl who likes to make us laugh. She appears to be the more dominate twin but time will tell how that shakes out. Very head strong, we are hoping that works out to her advantage some day! Such a big heart, she loves animals and is my little helper. She has a great sense of finishing things which seems rare in our family. With her wild personality I can not wait to see what life has in store for her.
Introductions complete . . . . . now on with making memories. Motherhood has been the hardest blessing I have encountered. I have already learned countless lessons from our girls and look forward to new ones. As any parent would tell you, I can't imagine my life with out My 3 Ella's.
